The Armaton MP Tarpaulin Kit is a quick-assembly accessory for the Armaton Modular Platform. Last week we performed the first assembly of the Armaton Modular Platform at our customer Harris Maxus' site in Liverpool. The assembly took less than 2 hours and required no special tools or equipment.

Armaton MP LongGood was an immediate success at Solutrans in November. Sophie Gigante, our Armaton partner in France, says that this long goods holder is an option that her customers have been waiting for and that they now are happy that we are adding it as an accessory for the Armaton Modular platform.

Armaton is now launching Armaton MP LongGoods - a new accessory to Armaton Modular Platform. The long goods holder is mounted into the Armaton Modular Platform’s rear flatbed pillars and together with the front wall it creates a complete solution for handling long goods on LCV.

Forankra Poland’s customer GP Truck recently showed at a Polish trade show a new electrical commercial vehicle which was equipped with Armaton front wall as well as Armaton 4000 XF front pillars and rear tip pillar!

Yesterday our team were busy taking pictures and films on how to mount the tarpaulin kit onto the Armaton Modular Platform. These instruction manuals will soon be available on our website!

Pickup Systems Ltd is our new distributor for Armaton flatbeds in the UK and they are working hard to increase our sales in this segment. In addition, Pickup Systems is an important asset to us as they help us develop our products in order to introduce them to OEM customers.

A big thank you to everyone at our partner company De Bond in Germany for a pleasant and constructive meeting at your site. We greatly appreciate the cooperation with you and our joint endeavor to continuously improve and develop our customer offering on the market of LCV (Light Commercial Vehicles).

In connection to our visit to Ampe Trucks in Olsene, Belgium, we met Joris who assembles our Modular Platform flatbeds. He thinks the Armaton flatbeds are simple and easy to assemble – it takes him 1.5 hours to assemble them when he does it by himself.

The Armaton Modular Platform is available in several standard sizes. If you need a platform in a different size please, contact us. Based on your specifications we can in our workshop customize the Armaton Modular Kit to fit your needs.

In our workshop we are packing the Armaton Modular Kit. All the kit components are packed tightly into one flatpack, making transport more efficient and sustainable. The flat package is also space efficient when storing several Armaton Modular Kits in the warehouse.

All manufacturing of the Armaton Modular Platform takes place in our production facility in Vårgårda, Sweden. Here we are processing and assembling the ready-to-use aluminum profiles towards a final product before packaging.

Armaton will soon launch Armaton Modular Platform for smaller pickups. The platforms are designed for some of the biggest brands on the UK market, and are adopted to the bodybuilder guidelines that are the same for all markets. The new flatbeds are so far approved for Ford Ranger and Toyota Hilux. We hope to add more brands to that list in a near future.

Ingimex Limited, one of Armaton’s oldest customers, has just celebrated its 50 years anniversary as one of UK’s leading LCV manufacturer. Armaton representatives were of course there on this special occation and they took at the same time the opportunity to hand over a gift to acknowledge and celebrate 30 years of close cooperation between Ingimex and Armaton.    Picture includes (from the left):  Lennart Klingzell (former KAM Armaton), Justin Gallen (Ingimex, MD), Ragnvald Andersson (Designer Armaton) , Jeremy Gallen (Ingimex, Construction Mgr), Andreas Mattsson (KAM Armaton).

Armaton 4000 XF is a weight-optimized pillar system providing maximum payload for vehicles with a load capacity up to 6 tonnes. The pillars are easy to handle, durable and ergonomic – a natural choice for those who need all the advantages of a pillar with flexibility and stability when attaching boxes or covers. 

IAA was a great success for Armaton with lots of interesting meetings with old and new contacts. It was also nice to see Armaton products on vehicles exhibited at the show.  One example is from the Veth Automotive stand where the new VW ID Buzz had a flatbed with Armaton pillars.    Read more about the Armaton Systems here

Four years has past since the last Elmia Lastbil. Forankra France is pleased to welcome the new Armaton customer CARROSSERIE INDUSTRIELLE NIORTAISE (CIN). On this picture they have mounted the Armaton Modular Platfrom onto a Nissan NV400.

During this spring Forankra France has made several road trips to body builders in France presenting the Armaton Modular Platform and all the new accessories which can be used together with it. At Solutrans, Lyon Armaton launches new accessories for Armaton Modular Platform – Armaton MP Tarpaulin Kit and Armaton MP OneStep. Get by our stands to see how light and clean the design of the Tarpaulin is and try out how easy it is to enter the flatbed with the dropside integrated footstep.

During the trade show NUFAM, Karlsruhe in September, we got the possibility to demonstrate how quick and easy it can be to build dropsides on light commercial vehicles by using the Armaton Modular Platform.

How can a LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) affect our choices of sustainable purchases? We have asked Fredrik Kollberg, Supply Chain Manager for Armaton, who gives us the following response: “We want to work with suppliers who care about sustainability and value environmentally friendly energy alternatives for their production facilities."

This is our Product Design Manager, Alexandra Andreasson’s answer to this question:“As a designer for Armaton, I am very much looking forward to being involved and implementing LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) on the Armaton Modular Platform. This will be my first LCA project to be directly involved in and it will be very interesting to participate in the process and to take part of the result.

The purpose for Armaton of conducting a LCA is to identify the climate impact a standard Armaton platform has during its lifetime – i.e from the design phase to production and usage until the product is taken out of service.

As part of our work with sustainability, Armaton has in the spring of 2021 ordered an LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) from IVL Swedish Environmental Institute in Gothenburg, Sweden. LCA is an analysis of the carbon footprint a product makes throughout its lifetime.

The Armaton Modular Platform can be used in many ways. Here is an example of a flatbed with a crane installed on an Iveco by Danlad in Denmark.

Armaton is now launching a rear dropside support, as a new accessory to the Armaton Modular Platform. The rear dropside supports are mounted on the existing runners.When you need to have the rear dropside open, e.g. if you drive long goods, you fold out the dropside supports to keep the rear dropside in position with no hanging down or covering the taillights.

Armaton has developed a unique 360 degree stepless load securing system for the Modular Platform. By using the specially designed Armaton lashing, securing load does not interfere with the loading area anymore. The lashing can be placed anywhere along the side rave, thus creating maximum loading space on the platform. 

Armaton will in June move its production of the Modular Platform to new premises and you can see the layout for the new workshop here.

Armaton arranged a Partner Day in Sweden Dec 11-12 for all partners througout Europe. The meeting started with a workshop where we  all partcipated in assembling a Modular Platform. On the agenda was also discussions about future development of the Armaton Modular Platform as well as market activities on our different markets.

Armaton Modular Platform was well received on the French market when it was launched at Solutrans in Lyon, Nov 19-23. The system created great interest for its unique solution of providing a complete dropside platform for light vehicles in a flat pack!

It is now time to launch the Armaton Modular Platform Kit on the Spanish market. Forankra Spain will introduce the new Armaton MP at SILBARCELONA, June 26-28.

Forankras partner TMT Malinen introduced the new Armaton MP to the Finnish market at Transport-Logistics in Helsinki, May 9-11. The interest for the new system was very positive and we look forward to see the results of the follow up from the exhibition.

The interest for the new system was well received on the Danish show. This was the first time the Modular Platform was shown on a Renault Master which made it easy to show benefits of the system.

The Modular Platform system was presented for the first time at Elmia Lastbil 2018, Aug 22-6 in Jönköping. The new concept made a success at the trade show and was enthusiastically demonstrated by our Armaton-specialists Ragnvald Andersson (designer) and Lennart Klingzell (KAM).

Armaton, a part of Forankra, is launching a new flatbed and box system for light goods vehicles (trucks, vans, etc.). The system is modular and screws together with no special tools.
